Disney's Grand Californian Hotel: Resort Tour & Craftsman Club!

You all know how much I love the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World and its amazing Royal Palm Club Level. Well today I'm taking you across the country to the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland and its amazing club level!

They even said "Have a Grand Day" when we checked in. 😊

My family booked a brief but brilliantly fun Disneyland trip last summer - I haven't found time to edit all the vlogs yet (stay tuned - they're coming!), but I have finished my club level and resort/room tour videos:

You may notice in the video there was some construction going on during our visit - it turns out the rooms and even the club level were getting a major facelift!

The Craftsman Club Level is now called "The Veranda" and looks very swanky and steamlined, but I'm really glad we got to experience this concierge lounge in all its original glory.

So rustic and cozy but artistic too with the interesting chairs and the lanterns - the paintings on the wall were the same as the paintings down in the Storyteller's Cafe!

The food in the Craftsman Club was pretty stellar - nice breakfast spread, delicious cheese board and crudite and hot appetizers at dinnertime.

"Move over Royal Palm" is what Athos said when he saw the mini palmiers the Craftsman Club served at afternoon tea. This was the unexpected winner of food offerings - not only did they have a gorgeous array of mini pastries, they also had absolutely gourmet tea sandwiches.

The dessert selection - not too extensive, but I loved those chocolate cupcakes!

The whole hotel is just beautiful - I think the Grand Californian wins for interesting lanterns. Everywhere you look there's a slightly different craftsman design. The hidden monarchs and insects in the pool lanterns and gates were amazing.

Our room overlooked the pool - and Disney's California Adventure park beyond! Some of the rooms have a more direct view into the park, but if you didn't get one there's still a spot you can go...

...there's a balcony open to all guests (you just need your room key to get in) at the far end of one of the DVC hallways. The view into DCA is stunning, and it was the perfect place to watch World of Color! Just be sure to get there early as the spots on the railing fill up.

It's hard to say which I prefer - the E Ticket Club over at the Disneyland Hotel or the Craftsman Club at the Grand Californian. It was pretty great having a park entrance literally right there in the hotel, and Downtown Disney was just steps away as well.

Which is your favorite Disneyland resort hotel? Post in the comments!
