I feel like Disney's Yacht Club Resort Hotel often gets overlooked. There's so much going on on Crescent Lake with the Boardwalk across the way and the more colorful Beach Club Resort just next door...
...but today we're going to take a look behind that serene grey exterior with the bright red and white awnings. It's time for a Disney resort room tour and review!
You often see photos of the Yacht Club entrance from the Crescent Lake side, but the parking lot approach is very grand too!
I just love how peaceful and sophisticated this lobby is. There's the giant globe and the French doors and the potted palms and the corner staircase...
...but before I get too distracted, let's get checked in and head away from the lobby, down the hallways to check out the room!
Some of the newer redesigns at the deluxe resorts (the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian Village) seem to be moving away from hidden Mickeys...but I'm glad to say the mouse is still present in lots of places at the Yacht Club. He's in the carpet outside your room...
...and on the desk inside your room too!
I like the fresh white and navy with touches of red - it feels very nautical.
There are ship wheels on the headboards!
The Yacht Club rooms are very similar in layout to the Beach Club rooms - they both have the same dresser with an eclectic assortment of shelves and drawers and cupboards. There's a small fridge behind the sailboat.
One painting shows a Boardwalk scene - with the Yacht Club across the water in the distance.
The painting over the couch is all about the yachts! Do you see the hidden Mickey?
That blue couch cover does come off, and it doubles as a daybed.
Here's the bathroom and sink area. If you look closely at the sailing vessels on the shower curtain, you'll see some Disney Cruise Line blueprints!
Our standard view was of the port cochere, but the noise wasn't bothersome and with the green trees right outside the balcony, it was nice to sit out in the sunshine.
More details...a nautical lamp in the corner and Mickey rope mirror behind the desk.
It was fun to explore the resort during our visit. Yacht Club guests have access to the enormous Stormalong Bay pool area, but there's also an inner courtyard with a quiet pool. While it does feel more subdued than some of the other deluxe resorts, the Yacht Club has its own upscale yet laid-back kind-of magic. :)
