January 2018: Reading Highlights

"Among the Wise I am the only one that goes in for hobbit-lore: an obscure branch of knowledge, but full of surprises. Soft as butter they can be, and yet sometimes tough as old tree-roots."

The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

If you haven't caught my January Reading Wrap-up yet you should definitely check it out! My brother Athos joined me to share the books we've been enjoying recently, and there are some really good ones. I've been re-reading Lord of the Rings and falling in love with it all over again! I also finished Peace Like a River by Leif Enger which has become a new favorite. Here's one of the many favorite lines I underlined...

"Be careful whom you choose to hate. The small and the vulnerable own a protection great enough, if you could but see it, to melt you into jelly. Beware those who reside beneath the shadow of the Wings."

Hope you've all been having a great reading month!
