Rustle yourselves up some big appetites, cowboys and girls, because I've got a big helping of Disney World deliciousness to share...
We're off to the far reaches of Frontierland; just behind Pecos Bill's you'll find the Golden Oak Outpost window which is serving some pretty amazing Western snacks.
These are the waffle fries to end all waffle fries.
Ready to try them??
There are three amazing waffle fry selections to try here: the Brown Gravy and Cheese (Poutine) Waffle Fries, the BLT Waffle Fries, and the Barbecue Pork Waffle Fries. They're $7.99 a piece and will definitely serve as a meal and fill you up, so come hungry!
The trays of crispy, golden, freshly-fried waffle fries lined up behind the counter were hard to resist! My brother Athos thought they looked so good he didn't want to risk spoiling them with toppings, so he got the eight-piece chicken nugget meal. The nuggets were pretty ordinary, but the fries were sooo good. Athos thought there might be some secret ingredient/flavor that gave the fries an added texture/crunch.
We also decided to sample the sweet potato nuggets for $2.99. They were nice enough but a little too mushy for my taste.
The main attraction!! I had seen photos of this before and was a little bit nervous but excited too - the pile of scrumptious waffle fries is topped with a mound of barbeque pork, coleslaw, and a final drizzle of barbeque sauce! The cast members were a little skeptical about this menu item themselves, but I wasn't backing down...
I'm happy to say this was a completely delicious combination! You can scoop up the savory, saucy meat and tangy coleslaw on one of those fries and...just yummmm! There's so much, I needed a fork and knife, but the ratio of pork and coleslaw to waffle fry was perfect.
Disney pro tip: take your mountainous waffle fries over to Pecos Bill's to sit and enjoy in the air conditioning with some ice cold water. This was the perfect afternoon meal to refuel with before heading back out into the Magic Kingdom!
Will you be sampling this mammoth waffle fry meal on your next trip?
