Brush off your bargaining skills, everyone. We've got a date with some Jawas at Star Wars Weekends, and they might just want to trade...
You'll find these mysterious creatures roaming the streets outside Darth's Mall.
Their schedule varies and they take turns with the storm troopers, so you may have to check back a few times to catch them.
Before we left for our Disney trip, we were sure to scavenge our basement for some junk to barter with the jawas - and we remembered to bring it with us into the park on our Star Wars Weekends day. These are discerning Jawas, and they won't take just any junk. They seemed to be refusing guests who offered them bits of paper or plastic park bags. You want the kind of small trinkets you'd find at the dollar store: a sheet of stickers, a plastic toy coin, a tiny rubber frog keychain, an old happy meal toy...
There were two jawas out, and we stopped to trade with both of them. They look at your item, indicate whether or not they'll take it, and then rummage in their receptacles...what will we get??
My little brother got "jawa bling" for his trades - a fake ring and Mardi Gras beads. I got a purple marble which my brother claims is a magical orb from space. If you don't like what the jawa pulls out, you can barter for something different. Don't let them sell you an R2 unit with a bad motivator. ;)
You can catch some of our trades in my second SWW video!
