House of Cupcakes | Princeton, NJ

Mondays are better with a little something sweet, don't you think?

I've got some cupcakes to share - a whole house of them in fact...

We were passing through Princeton, NJ on a day trip recently, and I did a little research on TripAdvisor beforehand and noticed a place called House of Cupcakes.  They were on the show "Cupcake Wars" and won!

I knew we'd have to stop by their Witherspoon Street shop.  There's a whole wall of cupcakes to choose from...

Where in WDW: Mickey Pillow

Happy Windsday!  Today's Disney trivia involves the MAIN MOUSE...

I'm talking about Mickey, of course!  You've probably seen a towel Mickey in your resort room, but have you ever seen this Mickey pillow?  I love the cheerful yellow and sketch style.  Post your guess in the comments!

Props to everyone who identified the last trivia photo - those lily pads are in a little garden in the China pavilion at Epcot, near the Temple of Heaven.

Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle LEGO Review

When LEGO started to come out with its charming Disney Princess sets, you knew it was only a matter of time before they added a Frozen castle to the list...

I am happy to report that Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle (set 41062 to be precise) is just as adorable as the rest of the line!

It comes with Elsa, Olaf, and Anna...

Kitchen Sink Sundae | Beaches & Cream

You know what Monday means around here...time to look at an amazing sweet treat.

I hope you're hungry, because this dessert has everything...including the kitchen sink!

This week we're traveling to the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop located between Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts to review a Walt Disney World classic.

When you see these tables and chairs, you know there's ICE CREAM on the way!

I love all the ice cream dishes lined up at the ready behind the counter!  Beaches & Cream does have normal food and sandwiches which tend to get mixed reviews - tasty but nothing special.  And if you're here for dessert, you want to save your stomach space; there's an amazing line-up of sundaes and shakes (I love the Frozen Sunshine!).

Beaches & Cream has such a funky, retro menu design...but I didn't even need to look at the options.  We were there for the KITCHEN SINK!  This is a behemoth sundae dessert - it costs $28.99 and is designed for (at least!) four people to share.

A little spoon and little bowl for each person were brought to the table...along with a BIG spoon for serving!

Our server, Maria, is a Beaches & Cream icon, and she brought out our Kitchen Sink with flashing lights and much fanfare.  Just look at the size of that thing!

A view from above.  The Kitchen Sink sundae includes...brownie pieces, angel food cake, cherries, chocolate chips, a candy bar, oreos...

...fudge, peanut butter, and butterscotch toppings as well as one scoop a piece of coffee and mint chocolate chip ice cream and two scoops each of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.  You can find the complete recipe here.

Unfortunately Beaches & Cream no longer seems to do this, but back in the day they would let you come behind the counter to help prepare the kitchen sink!  There is nothing more satisfying that swirling a whole can ("A WHOLE CAN!?") of whipped cream onto your sundae.

And of course the big "kitchen sink" dish is half the fun!

What are we waiting for?  Let's eat!

There were four in our party, and we managed to do a pretty good job...although there was a fair amount of soupy mess left in the sink and in our bowls.  Once you divide up the good stuff on top (the brownies were so fudgy and good!), there's a lot of fruit - not just cherries (and there were cherries for days)  - but also pineapple bits, strawberries, and candy orange slices.  There also seemed to be a ton of strawberry ice cream, which sadly no one in my family is a big fan of.

We won't be rushing back for another kitchen sink anytime soon (I'm feeling full just thinking about it!), but if you're a big ice cream or dessert person, it's an exciting Disney experience to try at least once. :)

When going on a London shopping spree, there are a few stores you simply have to visit...

One of them is the glorious Liberty of London on Great Marlborough Street!

She Sells Seashells & Castaway Cay Merch!

Let's set sail for some DISNEY CRUISE shopping, everybody...

We sailed on the Disney Dream last year, and one of my favorite parts was the day on Disney's island, Castaway Cay, in the Bahamas!

There are so many things to do...lounging in a hammock, dancing with the characters, going for a bike ride...and you also don't want to forget to check out the merch!

There are several shops on the island, but the main one is "She Sells Seashells...and Everything Else."

Top 7 Disney Desserts at the Magic Kingdom

It's no secret that, in my book, the desserts are always among the highlights of a Disney World trip!  The Magic Kingdom in particular has an impressive selection of treats, and strolling by Cinderella Castle is always nicer when I have something to snack on...

Today we're looking beyond the cupcakes (well...mostly!) to take in the top seven must-eat sweets at the Magic Kingdom.  Are you ready?

Top 5 Hot Chocolates in the World

I was in New York City last fall on a weekend trip with my cousin, and a sign outside a shop in SoHo caught my eye: "The Best Hot Chocolate in the World" it boasted.  Naturally, that was a claim we had to stop and investigate!

Travel and chocolate are two of my very favorite things in life, and I began to ponder: where in my own peregrinations have I sampled the best hot chocolates in the world?

This list is the result of that reminiscing - five outrageously decadent and delicious hot chocolates from five amazing cities - Paris, London, Dublin, Madrid and New York City.

Castaway Cay Blissful Bike Ride

I'd say we need some sunshine in today's post.  Some Castaway Cay sunshine...

The stop at Castaway Cay, Disney's own private island in the Bahamas, was definitely a highlight of our cruise aboard the Disney Dream last year.

I loved relaxing on the beach under the colorful umbrellas - or in a hammock under the palm trees! - but today's post is going to be dedicated to a bit more active sort-of Castaway Cay adventure...

We're going for a tropical bike ride!

There's a fair amount of island to explore, and biking is such a fun way to experience it!

Let's go - we've got palm trees to see!

Victoria & Albert Museum

Let's say you've just finished a late afternoon of shopping at Harrods in London, and - while the fashions and food halls and teddy bears in green were wonderful - you're in the mood for some British culture.

Just down the Brompton Road towards Kensington is the next stop on our Emma in Europe trip report.  I headed there after Harrods - it's the Victoria and Albert Museum!

The V&A is a museum dedicated to art and design.  I was just looking at their website, and currently they have an exhibit on about the history of wedding dresses.  Can I go back??
