Frozen News and Instagram Fun: 11/1/13 Fab Finds

Happy Month, everybody!  And Happy All Saint's Day!  I hope November is off to an auspicious start and that everybody had a fun Halloween.

I dressed up as Snow White and carved a Tinkerbell pixie dusted pumpkin, so I'd count my spooky holiday as a success. ;)

Ready for five fun links?

1.  I have to admit, I'm getting pretty excited for the new Disney movie Frozen to come out.  There are lots of new clips in Demi Lovato's music video, Let It Go, and it looks so neat.  I've always been a Winter Girl, so a new Disney princess making her own sparkly castle out of ice??  EPIC.

2.  Excited as I am for Frozen, I am kinda sad it's another computer animation film and not classic animation.    I saw a tweet linking to this really interesting article from Skunk and Burning Tires about how Disney is using a lot of hand-done drawings to promote Frozen.  So they know we all want the beautiful old style.  Why can't they actually give it to us in the movie instead of just on a poster?

3.  Loved this cute article from a reader's blog, Disney n' Diapers, all about Mickey Mail.  I always feel secretly excited whenever I go to the mailbox too - especially if I might be expecting anything from Disney! :)

4.  There was a new update on my trip report earlier this week, full of fun Downtown Disney doings and Earl of Sandwich deliciousness.  Oh what I wouldn't give for a holiday sandwich right now...

5. If you follow me on Instagram you'll probably have seen my #plusthemagicdaily posts throughout the month of October  Here were a few:

Plus the Magic hosted a super-fun Epcot photo-a-day challenge for Oct., and this month KJ has a new one for resorts!  I'm all about Disney World resorts, so I'm sure I'll be playing along. :)

And for even more pixie dusted links...

  1. Aww! you are so sweet to mention me. I do love my Mickey Mail;) and you make a gorgeous Snow White. I'm with ya on classic Disney animation. I really wish we could get a movie that gets back to Disney roots. Of course I'm excited for Frozen too. I'm sure they'll be promoting this big time when we are in Disney in two weeks.

    1. Thank you for writing it! :) I was so glad to find it because I feel the same way - I just don't get why Disney is moving away from the old-fashioned animation. It's so beautiful!

  3. I wonder if Disney will ever do an old fashioned hand drawn animated film again. I guess only time will tell. Perhaps in another couple of decades there will be a resurgence of interest in classic animation.
